Chapter Three:

Cameron had never been to a rock concert in his life, but he was as eager as a teenage groupie. Driving to the arena in the back of a chauffeured stretch limousine only enhanced the experience and fed his excitement. The ride seemed to take forever, but at last the venue was within sight. Cameron leaned toward the window to get a closer look. Concert-goers littered the block and security was everywhere. A large group of fans raced toward the car as it pulled up to the back entrance of the arena. Security guards manned the barricades to keep them safely at bay, but they rallied against it.

Cameron exited the limo, and the exuberance of the crowd deflated when they saw that he wasn’t one of their favorite rock stars, but some continued to gawk at him, intrigued by his identity and arrival in the expensive car. He gave his name to a burly guard who ceremoniously stepped aside and granted him admission. Cameron followed a long corridor filled with activity. People passed him in both directions, too busy to answer his questions about where to find Brandon. He continued through the hallway and checked each door until he came upon one with Brandon’s name on it. Cameron’s heart fluttered as he stared at the little black and white card in the metal holder on the door, and he knocked with impatience. A rush of loud music and voices spilled from the room when a security guard answered.

“Name?” The guard blocked his path.

“I’m Cameron Douglas. Brandon is expecting me.”

The security guard checked a clipboard, then stepped aside so Cameron could enter. The room was thick with people, and Cameron navigated through them in search of his star. The sweet smell of pot infiltrated Cameron’s senses. Someone seated on the couch was snorting coke off a magazine. Two guys were groping each other against the wall next to a buffet table filled with an enormous spread of food. A bartender poured drinks behind a full bar located to Cameron’s right. This impressive pre-show party could easily pass for the main event.

A pair of hands, covered in fingerless gloves, circled Cameron’s waist from behind and startled him. Lips tickled his neck, and then Brandon’s voice was in his ear.

“I thought you’d never get here.”

Cameron turned to face his lover, expecting the sandy-haired boyish face from the night before. His mouth dropped open when he was greeted by a rock and roll god. Brandon’s day-old razor stubble had grown in scruffy and toughened his jaw. His intense blue eyes were rimmed in dark black eyeliner. Tight, ripped jeans hugged his body, while his bare chest displayed his black and grey tattoos and the silver barbells that pierced his nipples. His soft curls were tousled with a just-rolled-out-of-bed look that made Cameron’s heart, and his erection, rush with adrenaline. Gone was the guise of an ordinary man. In its wake stood Brandon Bullet, Rock Star.

Brandon let out a small chuckle. “I know I look a little different from yesterday.
